Almost done with the space ships work, this is a Zbrush BPR done for one of the models. At first time the game will use icons, but there's a chance to have the 3d models in the near future. Meanwhile, the webpage is being developed, and as soon is it ready will post the link.The model was done in 2 days. 1 for modeling and unwrapping and 1 for zbrushing.

Flypaper is another film i had the chance to work in when i was working as 3d generalist at Cinemotion. My tasks were cloth simulation, and modeling the vault as well to rigging the vault door for the explosion sequence. As soon i get permission will be able to upload the sequences :)

MyPaint, is an open source painting software. That i believe has some of the best digital brushes (i love the set developed by Ramón Miranda). One of the things i like the most is the endless canvas. You can keep drawing and drawing, and drawing...

First task at Cinemotion, was to do cloth simulation for metallic deformations on this TV movie for Syfy channel.

Bakin 56: low2Hi mel script

This is a sample of one of the scripts i created at Cinemotion.
It helps the animator switch between a low polygonal model to a hi one to check the animation.

The Script duplicates the low version and hides the original source to keep it safe.
The hi poly version is connected to the original low one, so it will deform and follow the animation without problems.

If you are modeling, u can use it to preview the final smoothed version. In comparasion with the defaul smooth prev in maya (3) that works in both sides, this script keeps the original side in low resolution... perhaps is kind of old school. I remember working like that when i was learning maya
so decided to add the feature to the script.

Unfortunatelly i don´t have permission from the studio to share it, and i can only show it working.

There´s a few more tools i´ve done, and more videos will come.

PS: Animation done by my friend Andreu Campos. The rat model and rigs are not mine.

Those are screen captures of the other commercials i work in at cinemotion. Again, my main task was rigging the characters, and the camel and some props, with some modeling work in the characters, because we got them from the swiss agency, but were not suitable for animation. And modeling the saussage, arrows and flags.

This was supposed to be a second timelapse of the sculpting sketch. But i forgot to start the movie recording in Zbrush until i did the turntable. Still there´s a few details left,that after seeing it come to my mind, but will start them in the last session just before painting it.

Between rigs i was asked to build up a set of tools for basic rigging this is a test of a beta log window, to keep a track of the updates for the rigs. Has been tested in Autodsk Maya 2009, 2010, 2011 for windows and 2010, 2011 for Linux.

Soon all will be put in a package.

This is WIP done first time i tried sculptris. A free sculting software. As you can see, an easy and friendly GUI so you can start modeling quickly. After sculpting you can access the paint mode to paint bump maps and textures in your models and save them to be rendered.

It has a a turntable animation that allows you to sculpt as the mesh keeps moving. So have fun and give it a try!!!

I had a random translation script i did when learning mel, it was just a few lines always executed from the script editor or a shelve button. So, recently i just picked it up and tried to do something more decent. Feel free to download it and try it. Then any suggestions are welcome :)

For use it, copy the mel script file in your default "Documents/maya/ Maya version/ scripts/" folder and start it from the command line in maya with: randomness;

In the last 3 years i've been teaching maya at TAW (The Animation Workshop), from Viborg, Denmark. This year i did a 2 weeks introduction to maya, for professional students, and one of the assigments i gave them was to make a simple Xmas 3d card.

As example I created a little robot, which main objective is hunting Santa.

The first model presented, was made of basic shapes. Yesterday i decided to work a bit more on it, and this is the result, although still in progress.

Well, this mel script still needs a bit of work.
Right now, only creates a default cubic geometry
in a 3d grid which resolution we can edit.

But i think it works quite well to consider this a first beta.

I was playing around with textures again, and ended with a simple radar shader for maya. Obviously can be improved a lot, but i think it can be a nice starting template.
I was wondering if it's possible to customize with mel or pyton an automatic time code... also will be really cool, to take a coordinate system and detect any object inside it.... ummmm i will work on it.

Hi!!

Light Controls is a small mel script for controlling lights attributes in a scene, in later releases more funciontionality will be added.
Right now, only Intensity, Color, emit Diffuse or Specular can be modified from it.

To use it, copy the file in your:
"C:\Users\YourUser\Documents\maya\maya x.x\scripts"

Start Maya, and in the command line type:
lightCtrl; and press ENTER.
